About Milky Lane

Located by Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach, Milky Lane was founded by three mates on a mission to create one of Sydney’s best burger bars. Chefs Patrick Killalea and Scott Findlay together with General Manager Pete Haselhurst opened Milky Lane in May 2016, and the venue has heaved with hungry patrons ever since. Specialising in burgers, shakes, desserts and cocktails, Milky Lane positions itself as a laid back venue where everyone is welcome.
Selling up to 1,500 burgers on a busy weekend, Milky Lane needs to be as efficient in its processes as possible. After much research and some trial and error with different POS solutions, Milky Lane chose Revel to power their business.

Business Goals

When Milky Lane first opened, they had engaged a point of sale solution that didn’t quite live up to their expectations. Lost orders and a marked disconnect between the kitchen and the floor was very apparent. It was at this point that the team decided to make the switch to Revel.

To help streamline processes, the team invested in Mobile Order Takers to facilitate fast and efficient tableside ordering, a Kitchen Display Screen to ensure that orders are lined up chronologically and served in a timely manner, and an expediter screen so wait staff can easily keep tabs on the progress of an order. According to Pete, Revel’s speed and order accuracy has significantly improved operations across the business.

The Revel Solution

When the team was looking to change POS systems, they had a number of non-negotiable requirements. They needed a solution that was reliable, robust and scalable, and they needed to have confidence in the platform to ensure that lost orders and syncing issues would well and truly be a thing of the past.

A solution that could grow with the business as it expands was another key factor. Now that Milky Lane has established itself as a staple in Sydney’s burger scene, expansion to a second venue is well within the team’s scope and Revel is ready to help them scale as needed.
